The founders of the Methow Valley Wellness Center, Michael, and Sierra, have been business owners in the valley for over 25 years.

They first envisioned a combined wellness center & resort soon after they met in 1991. Michael and Sierra's skills melded and their vision came to life first with the construction of the present Methow Valley Wellness Center in 2005 and then the Sunflower Resort, completed in the early Spring of 2024.

Sierra completed her doctorate in naturopathic medicine in 1997, and when the two moved here, she started practicing holistic medicine right away. Now her medical naturopathic practice at the Methow Valley Wellness Center has had the longest tenure in the 70-mile-long valley.

Over these three decades, Michael has built many houses, studios, and garages, a boutique hotel, the Wellness Center itself, a tree house, and a custom yurt. He has always enjoyed consulting and advising novice builders and do-it-your-selfers, in their quest to self-build a home here.

Consider using the time you won't have to spend commuting to all points far and wide in the valley, to instead go next door to the FoodShed to pick up some marinated lamb shank and heritage beets, spicey salad greens, and chevre cheese (provided by the valley's best ranchers and farmers), and to effortlessly prepare a fine dish in our well-stocked kitchen. (The FoodShed is open 24/7 and takes Venmo for payment direct to the farmer!)
